When do I start my field experiences?

If you are completing your field work in your own classroom, you will begin logging your field hours right away.

If TeacherReady is helping you find a mentor, it may take up to 16 weeks to secure your placement. To stay on track with your hours, you should begin volunteering in a local classroom during the first lesson of the program. 45 hours of your 185-hour field requirement can be completed as a volunteer.

In the first lesson, you will complete a volunteer assignment and receive recommendations on how to begin volunteering.
