Do I need to be a United States citizen to participate in the TeacherReady® Program?
An individual who is not a U.S. citizen must meet additional requirements to be eligible for a Florida Professional Teacher Certification:
- Have a current, valid US Social Security Number to take the Florida Teacher Certification Exams
- Obtain a teaching position in the State of Florida
If you are not a U.S. citizen, and you do not meet these requirements, you may enroll in TeacherReady and will receive a “Certificate of Completion” from the University of West Florida showing your course completion. A “Certificate of Completion” is not considered a teaching certification.
