Bachelors (Secondary Education Language Arts)- Auburn University of Montgomery

Bio and Teacher Training:
Carrie has been in the field of education for 20 years. She began her teaching career in Alabama and then moved to Florida where she began teaching secondary ELA in Santa Rosa County, FL. During this time, she taught ESE inclusion, intensive reading, honors English, and Advanced Placement Literature. She has also served in multiple adjunct roles at Pensacola State College and the University of West Florida. Carrie currently serves in the role of the district literacy coach for secondary schools where we are continually working to equip teachers with the training, resources, and certification necessary to achieve success in the ELA/literacy classroom. Equipping current and future teachers with the tools necessary to meet the needs of students is one of her chief priorities as an educator. At the end of the day, Carrie believes empowering teachers to become radical, change agents is critical in terms of impacting individual students on a broader scale.
