Bio and Teacher Training:
Reggie began his teaching career in 2005. He is currently employed at Texas Southern University as an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education. Prior to that, Reggie served as a middle and high school mathematics teacher for the Escambia County School District in Florida and a tenured professor of mathematics at Pensacola State College. Reggie is a former member of the Florida Education Association and a current member of the National Education Association, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators, the Research Association of Minority Professors, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Reggie has served as a subject area expert for the Florida DOE’s Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE) Item Validation Committee and has presented on various educational topics. Reggie’s research interests include the impact of teacher care on teaching and learning, the incorporation of culturally responsive teaching into daily classroom instructions, and the design of mathematics and science classrooms that promote active student involvement.
