Bio and Teacher Training:
A recent retiree from the public school system, I have spent 29 years in education. I was privileged to be a classroom teacher at the elementary, junior high and high school level as well as a special education collaborating teacher before I took a position as a high school counselor. I have been with the TeacherReady Program for four years, and I find the curriculum very relevant to my experiences in education. As a Lesson 5 instructor I am able to speak to areas that have always been my professional and academic areas of interest…..teaching students from disadvantaged backgrounds, working with special needs students, and helping all learners to be their best in our classrooms.
In addition to my work with the TeacherReady Online Teacher Certification Program I am currently working part time with Career Services in the Kentucky Community and Technology College System (KCTCS_, as well as conducting student teacher observations for Georgetown College. I also continue to serve on several scholarship and admission committees and boards around the state. I reside in Kentucky with my husband and we have two college aged sons. I enjoy travel, photography, reading and boating on our beautiful local lake.
