Bio and Teacher Training:
I have taught elementary education for 17 years, with experience in second, third, fifth, and sixth grades.  During the course of my career I have helped colleagues as a School Technology Coordinator and Mentor, Grade Level Leader, Supervising Teacher, and Mentor Teacher.   I have also held leadership positions as a member of the Digital Renaissance Leadership Team, SACS Steering Committee, ARI Committee, and Continuous Improvement Team.  I have also been recognized as the Madison County Schools Elementary Teacher of the Year, a Disney’s American Teacher Award Nominee, and a Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.  I currently teach sixth grade social studies and science, which is my dream job!

I am a lesson 4 instructor for the TeacherReady Online Teacher Certification Program. Lesson 4 is about best practices in assessing student learning and planning assessments.  I really enjoy getting to know the students in this program; I love helping others realize their dreams to become a teacher.  I also love spending time with my two sons, traveling, hiking, and reading.
