Bio and Teacher Training:
I currently serve as full-time Assistant Professor of Education and Early Childhood Specialist at the University of Mobile in Mobile, AL. I retired from the Baldwin County Public School System after 27 years of serving in many capacities. I served as a classroom teacher in 1st and 3rd grades, Gifted Education Teacher, and a School Psychometrist. I hold Alabama teaching certificates in the areas of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Gifted Education, School Psychometry, Leadership and Administration, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I was recognized as Teacher of the Year at Daphne Elementary School while serving as the Gifted Education Specialist for kindergarten through second grade students. I was awarded the Alumni Star Award at the University of Mobile for exceptional contributions to the field of education. During my career as an educator, I have assisted with curriculum development and provided professional development for the Baldwin County Gifted Education Department. I am also involved with recruiting future educators, as well as altruistic and scholarship opportunities for future educators. My career as an educator has been exceptionally rewarding and fulfilling. I feel that all individuals should be provided with educational experiences that promote development, growth, and the desire and willingness to learn. An educator is a facilitator and role model in the learning process, helping to develop the skills necessary for becoming an independent learner and scholar. Education enables us to maximize our life and experiences.
