I’d like to take a moment to tell you how impressed I am with the way y’all run your program. For the past few years, I’ve served on the Board of Directors for a charter school. We anticipated a wide range of ability/knowledge/experience levels in the school, so looked into online classes to help with ensuring that all of our students had challenging classes to take... From what I’ve seen so far, you guys have pretty well figured out [teacher preparation].

So, what role do school leaders play? Quite simply, they create the conditions that foster and nourish a school full of great teachers. They know that their teachers are the number one influencing factor affecting student learning and parent satisfaction. This begins with recruiting well-prepared new teachers; providing them opportunities for development, and retaining highly effective teachers.
