Kisha Tolbert-Woods, Ph.D., NBCT
Dr. Kisha Tolbert-Woods is a native of McIntosh, Alabama but currently resides in the Birmingham, AL area. Over the past 12 years, Dr. Kisha has served an elementary teacher, cluster group gifted and talented teacher, elementary reading coach, and an elementary and secondary instructional partner (coach). Dr. Kisha currently serves as an elementary specialist/training coordinator for the Alabama Math, Science, & Technology Initiative at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Kisha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University, Master’s degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University, Education Specialist degree in Teaching & Learning from Liberty University, Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Curriculum & Instruction from Capella University, and National Board Teacher Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy.
Dr. Kisha serves as a trained candidate support provider for teacher’s pursuing National Board Teacher Certification, a model teacher for the Governor’s Commission on Quality Teaching, and an education coach and consultant.
