Gretchen Jones Torbert, Ph.D., CHLC
Gretchen Jones Torbert is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. As a passionate educator, motivational speaker and author, Gretchen has served as a K-12 educator for over 12 years. Her titles have ranged from K-8 classroom teacher, Mathematics Specialist, Academic Data Coach and Instructional Coach. She has taught ESOL, Gifted/High Achievers and Exceptional Education Students. She was named Teacher of the Year in 2006 at Dunaire Elementary School in Dekalb County School District. She received an award for being a part of a dynamic team in 2012, 5th grade Team of the Year and she received awards for teacher of the month three times in her educational career. She has travelled to various cities conducting professional development sessions and leading inspirational sessions for educators and women. Ms. Torbert completed her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education from Georgia State University, Master’s degree in Urban Teacher Leadership from Georgia State University and Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Education degree with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University. In addition to her educational endeavours, she is an author of over 20 books in various genres, a passionate motivational speaker and a philanthropist.
