Wesley Gordon is currently in his eleventh year as a teaching professional. He currently holds a bachelor’s of Science degree in K-6 elementary education from East Stroudsburg University as well as a Masters of Education degree in reading education with a reading specialist certification, also from East Stroudsburg University. Wesley holds professional teaching certifications in Florida and Pennsylvania, where he has taught at both the primary and intermediate grade levels. During this time, he has been a member of the Escambia County Literacy Teachers Association where he has served as president and a member of various committees tasked with providing literacy development for teachers as well as promoting the love of reading for students throughout Escambia County School District. In addition to teaching, Wesley has worked as a district Literacy Coach, providing collaborative coaching for elementary teachers teaching in state DA status schools. Additionally, Wesley has volunteered with the Florida Department of Education as an Instructional Materials Reviewer, making recommendations for text series to be used in the school adoption process.
