Sarah Miller is Faculty Specialist for Retention, Progression, and Completion for TeacherReady which is the alternative certification program affiliated with the University of West Florida. Dr. Miller’s degrees and experience are vast. She has an educational doctorate degree in Curriculum and Diversity Studies from the University of West Florida, an educational specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida, a master’s of arts degree in Mild Disabilities with an endorsement in Moderate, Severe, and Profound Education from The University of Evansville, and a bachelor’s of science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana. Dr. Miller spent 16 years in K-12 education prior to working with graduate students. During her career, Dr. Miller has taught both elementary and secondary students. Not only was Dr. Miller the special education department head for numerous years, but she also was chosen to participate in the Leadership Development Program for the Baldwin County School District in Alabama. During this time period, she enjoyed working with administrators in elementary, middle and high schools. Among her other accomplishments, Dr. Miller helped establish the Baldwin County Transition Team and first school to work program at Fairhope High School for special needs students. She has received certification from The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, and she has served as a reviewer of educational materials and textbooks for Corwin Press.
