Mary Parsons has a B.A. in Spanish from Florida International University, and an M.S. in TESOL and an EdS in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She also is Florida state certified to teach Elementary Ed, Primary Ed, Spanish, German, Ed leadership, ESOL, English 6-12 and has a reading endorsement. She has spent the past 28 years of her teaching career teaching in the Miami Dade County Public Schools in elementary, secondary and adult education. She taught second grade, kindergarten and Spanish for 12 years in elementary school, and has been teaching ESOL for 16 years in high school. She has served as a mentor teacher for beginning teachers, supervising teacher of field interns, department chairperson, SACS committee member and leadership team member. Ms. Parsons has extensive experience in working with ESOL students and other students of diverse backgrounds. For the past 8 years she has been teaching ESOL at a Title I high school teaching economically disadvantaged students. Her passion is teaching students of all age levels and helping to guide the next generation of teachers.
