TeacherReady® Service Members Scholarship

TeacherReady® has developed the TeacherReady® Service Members Scholarship to assist active duty and retired service members in earning their professional teaching certification.  This scholarship offers $2,500 toward the program tuition. We are excited to extend this scholarship to those who have served our country and are now looking to serve the classroom.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)

The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) Program is an employment assistance program that provides up to $4,000 of financial assistance to eligible military spouses who are pursuing a license, certification or Associate’s degree in a portable career field and occupation. GI Bill and Post 9/11 GI Bill

The Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) is available for those who enlist in the U.S. Armed Forces. MGIB encompasses both theMontgomery GI Bill-Active Duty (Chapter 30) and The Montgomery GI Bill-Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606). Under Chapter 30, Active Duty members enroll and pay $100 per month for 12 months; and are then entitled to receive a monthly education benefit once they have completed a minimum service obligation. Under Chapter 1606, a reservist must be actively drilling and have a 6-year obligation in the Selected Reserve to be eligible. The Post-9/11 GI Bill is effective August 1, 2009. Approved training under the Post-9/11 GI Bill includes graduate and undergraduate degrees, vocational/technical training, on-the-job training, flight training, correspondence training, licensing and national testing programs, entrepreneurship training, and tutorial assistance. All training programs must be approved for GI Bill benefits. Air Force Tuition Assistance

The Air Force Tuition Assistance (TA) program is designed to help active-duty personnel pursue voluntary, off-duty educational opportunities. Currently, the program pays up to $250 per semester hour or equivalent of the cost of college tuition. Tuition assistance covers $375.00 per lesson in the TeacherReady program. The student is responsible for paying per lesson not covered by tuition assistance.Courses and degree programs may be academic or technical and can be taken from two- or four-year institutions on base, off base or by correspondence. Coast Guard Tuition Assistance

As the budget allows the Coast Guard currently provides tuition assistance (TA) to all uniformed personnel (regular and drilling reservists), civilian employees, and commissioned Public Health Service officers who are serving with the Coast Guard to fund off-duty courses related to the Coast Guard’s missions or to the applicant’s career and professional development. Marine Tuition Assistance

During Service: As a Marine, up to 100 percent of your education expenses may be paid by the federal government through programs like Tuition Assistance, the Post 9-11 GI Bill and the Marine Corps College Fund. Select Marines may earn a degree through the College Degree Program, which has both a four- and two-year option. Both options cover the cost of tuition, fees, textbooks and uniforms at certain selected colleges and universities… After Service: These education benefits extend well beyond active duty and are awarded based on the number of years served and the specific education program in which you enroll. In some cases, the benefits may also be transferred to your spouse or child. Navy Tuition Assistance

Navy service members benefit from some of the most intensive, comprehensive training to be found. It’s also why the Navy has programs that can pay most, if not all, of the cost of earning all types of degrees. To use Navy tuition assistance for the TeacherReady program, students must first enroll in the Masters in Education Curriculum and Instruction through the University of West Florida for one semester. Students then begin the TeacherReady program for nine (9) month. Upon completion of the TeacherReady program, students resume the Master’s program through completion.
